What is this dividend yield calculator?
A free, browser-based calculator for dividend yield — the annual dividend per share as a percentage of the share price. Enter the annual dividend per share and the share price to instantly see the yield, and optionally add earnings per share (EPS) to also see the payout ratio. Everything runs locally in your browser, so your data is never uploaded.
How it is calculated
Dividend yield = annual dividend per share ÷ share price, expressed as a percentage. When you provide EPS, the payout ratio = annual dividend per share ÷ EPS is also shown. For example, a 100 annual dividend on a 2,500 price gives a 4.00% yield; with an EPS of 200 the payout ratio is 50.00%. The figure shown is the pre-tax (nominal) yield.
- Nominal (表面) yield ignores taxes and fees; net (実質) yield deducts dividend taxes and trading costs.
- Dividends are usually taxed, so the after-tax yield is lower than the figure shown here.
- The payout ratio shows how sustainable the dividend is relative to earnings.
How to use it
- Enter the annual dividend per share.
- Enter the current share price (must be greater than zero).
- Optionally enter EPS to also see the payout ratio.
Common use cases
- Comparing the income you'd earn across dividend-paying stocks.
- Spotting a misleadingly high yield caused by a falling share price.
- Checking whether a dividend looks sustainable via the payout ratio.
