How it works
This tool extracts a single frame from a video and saves it as an image. The video is loaded straight into your browser — it is never uploaded to a server, so even large or private clips stay completely on your device.
Steps
- Drop a video file (MP4, WebM, MOV…) or click to choose one.
- Scrub the timeline to roughly the moment you want.
- Use Prev / Next frame to nudge to the exact frame, then pause.
- Pick the output format (PNG, JPG, or WebP) and adjust quality for the lossy ones.
- Click Capture frame & download to save the frame at the video's full resolution.
Tips
- PNG is lossless and best for sharp text or UI; JPG and WebP make smaller files.
- The frame is captured at the video's native pixel size, not the on-screen size.
- Frame stepping assumes about 30fps because browsers don't expose a clip's real frame rate.
